Geologically part of the Selva plateau, it is characterised by a landscape of crop fields and riverbeds. Here you will find the Verneda and Gotarra creeks, two examples of highly characteristic riparian ecosystems.

The route runs through the districts of Esclet and Mosqueroles, and takes you through some interesting historical and natural areas, such as the Dark Pinewood, a very popular recreation area, the chapel of Saint Vincent, the protected natural space of the Esclet floodplain, or the farmhouse of Can Dalmau de Mosqueroles.

It is an easy, very complete route that has you discover a space as unfamiliar yet stunning as the Cassà flatlands.
